RELIGIOUS MOVEMENT MADAGASCAR   URGENT APPEAL   We religious leaders within the « Religious Movement » in Madagascar strongly condemn the violence committed to the Malagasy people, particularly to us. We were trying to hold an open air worship service on May 20 th but the military force led by colonel Richard Ravalomanana shot to the crowd. One of our fellow pastor was shot dead and another one brutalised, beaten, humiliated, wounded, and arrested by the military force and then put into pre-trial detention. He suffers from his wounds and has not yet received any appropriate medical care since his detention on May 21 st . Human rights are continuously violated. Eight of us are still now hiding for the facto government is prepared to arrest us. We are very much concerned about our families, our congregations.   Therefore we ask support from the international community and other human right organisations.   Madagascar Presidency   COMMUNIQUE Le Président Marc RAVALOMANANA déplore vivement les décès survenus lors des tragiques affrontements ayant opposés entre eux des éléments des forces armées malagasy ce 20 mai 2010, pleure avec leur famille respective la disparition de deux soldats, d'un pasteur et d'une femme, et souhaite un prompt rétablissement aux trop nombreux blessés, tous victimes d'une situation de crise profonde incontrôlée mais exploitée et attisée par certains.   Nul n'ignore le climat de terreur actuel, encore aggravé par de multiples actes répressifs de grande violence qui prennent prétexte de manifestations pourtant pacifiques d'un peuple et d'une presse épris de Liberté, auxquels se sont joints des religieux dont le rôle est en effet d'élever les consciences.
