Madagascan president reappoints ex-premier

Antananarivo - Madagascan President Andry Rajoelina on Wednesday reappointed General Camille Vital as premier of the island after the military leader stepped down last week.
Vital had resigned from his post last Thursday after 15 months in the job.
Rajoelina made his choice from seven candidates, including one woman, all of whom were nominated by political groups controlled by the president.
'Camille Vital is the premier of the majority of the population and he must now build a government of national unity,' Rajoelina told a media briefing at his presidential palace.
Rajoelina, the 36-year-old former DJ who deposed the previous government in 2009 with military backing, was harshly criticised for the appointment by the three big opposition parties of former presidents Marc Ravalomanana, Albert Zafy and Didier Tatsiraka.
One opposition politician, who wished to remain anonymous, told.
